Simone Atkins

13th - 24th April

Simone lives in the Upper Macleay Valley west of Kempsey, on the banks of the Macleay River at Temagog.

Her work is inspired by her immediate surroundings of the farm and river. She also draws inspiration from the beachside village of Crescent Head.

Originally from Newcastle, Simone studied Art at Hunter St Tafe and at the Newcastle University. She has been a teacher and practising artist for the previous 20 years. 

Simone specialises in Printmaking, in particular Etching. Over the last few years she has been experimenting with painting.

“I like to use bright, bold colours with free flowing lines to show energy within my work”.
