Harold Le Jeune
17th - 29th January
Harold is a versatile Hobby Artist living in Port Macquarie, an active member of the Hastings Valley Fine Art Association with a passion for painting in watercolour, pen & ink and wash, and pencil and charcoal drawing.
Upon leaving High School in his home town of Campbelltown, Harold initially studied with the famed Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney before moving to Port Macquarie in 1987.
Harold’s painting style is generally quite realistic with emphasis on proportions, perspective, transparency, accurate colours and mood, and light and dark areas for impact. He often uses Pen & Ink & Wash for quickly recording outdoor scenes whilst travelling. He uses artist quality materials and professional framing to ensure long life of his work.
Harold is greatly inspired by the character and style of old Australian farm buildings, rural landscape, river and beach scenes. He really enjoy depicting subjects from our overseas travels particularly in Italy (Tuscany & Venice), France and Greece. He is privileged to have many Australian clients in addition to those from Canada, Switzerland, Singapore and England.
Harold also considers himself privileged to have completed painting many personal commissions for numerous clients. He also conducts regular tuition classes for aspiring local artists. He has achieved many awards for his work, and have had seven successful solo exhibitions resulting in the knowledge that has created work that gives a lot of satisfaction to others.
Harold’s work is regularly exhibited at Masterpiece Framing/Gallery, 2/91 Hastings River Drive, Port Macquarie and the Hastings Fine Art Gallery, 2 William Street, Port Macquarie as well as at his Home Studio Gallery "Gallery Le Jeune & Art Studio"
