Adversity Referral Program
We are pleased to introduce a new affiliation with not for profit organisations, Kempsey Neighbourhood Centre and Mid North Coast Financial Counselling Service. The Adversity Referral Program which launches on Monday, 25th July is for members who are experiencing crisis and/or who are vulnerable and disadvantaged.
This program allows our team to further assist our members when their need for help goes beyond the scope of traditional financial services.
Coastline Staff can refer their members directly to the Kempsey Neighbourhood Centre, or its branch/relevant support person in the vicinity of the referring Coastline branch. The Kempsey Neighbourhood Centre services an area spanning from the Manning Valley to South West Rocks. Our team can connect members with a qualified person at the Kempsey Neighbourhood Centre who can assist them further with their individual situation.
Some of the services that we will be able to refer to a Kempsey Neighbourhood Centre are:
- Financial counselling
- Financial literacy program
- Domestic Violence
- Gambling addiction
- Elder abuse
- Counselling
- Substance abuse
- Emergency relief
The Adveristy Referral program is offered in addition to Coastline’s Hardship Assistance offers.
Coastline can assist our members with hardship in the following areas:
- Exploring options related to the debts they have by lowering repayments or extending their loan term
- Temporarily ceasing repayments for a period
- Debt consolidation
- Reduced interest rate or an interest only period
Coastline staff have received training from Kempsey Neighbourhood Centres employees, Shirley Kent and Pauline Smith which has provided them the skills to: Recognise > Respond >Refer
The program will provide exceptional support, trust and commitment to the community that supports us.
