Mark is a multimedia artist currently working in watercolour and oils.

He lives on the Mid North Coast (Kempsey hinterland) been exhibiting in group and solo exhibitions for the past 30 years as well as regularly working on commissioned pieces. He is represented by several Mid North Coast galleries, and his work has been included in a group exhibition of  new Australian Art that toured Italy (2016)

Mark's work focuses on a constant dialogue with his immediate natural environment. He says he is captivated by “moments” of light, movement and colour, rather than scenes. These moments are the source of his approach to colour and multilayered surface treatment. As a result his work varies between a loose contemporary expressionist style and pure abstract.

Mark sees himself as a “revealer of light” and uses multiple layers of colour, glazing, and veiling to create a depth within image and to create flashes of light emanating from within the painting.

He incorporates 24 ct gold leaf into many of his works to enhance flashes of light from within the art work and reflect a feeling of the initial inspiration of peripheral light.
