Jen Hetherington

Through creativity based on an intrinsic knowledge of fabric, form, colour and texture, Jen shares her skill and knowledge.
Along with experience in fashion production and higher education, film and music media costuming, Jen has an ongoing desire to be immersed in drawing, painting and writing; evolving her own personal style.
Past projects, based on coastal themes, combine fabric paintwork with texture and mood. Jen uses generous colours and blends them directly onto various fabrics with alluring results, which have been constructed into soft furnishing that are hand washable, durable and unique.
More recent works reflect monochrome landscapes, some imaginary, some real, in two dimensional scenery depictions. Jen has drawn her inspiration from the diverse natural habitats that flourish on Australia’s coastal regions and in her imagination and has expanded her art practice to the creation of poetry and fiction writing that reflects her surroundings, past, present and future.
