Sue strives to create impressionist works that capture the beauty around us and have been inspired by the Mid North Coast since moving here from Melbourne 15 years ago.

She was tutored for a short time and became good friends with Victorian Artist Wendy Rees Harrison, Lloyd Rees’ niece who instilled a passion and a love of art in all its forms. Wendy has been the greatest influence on her.

Sue educated herself and studied techniques used by artists that she admires from the old masters to modern day as she believes art cannot be taught. She probes into every corner of her life for inspiration.

Sue studied Art at Hawthorn Institute of Education Victoria; she was a member of Victorian Artist Society and went on to tutor at numerous art centres throughout Melbourne.

Water colour, oils and occasionally pastels are her preferred mediums.

She enjoys the freedom of working with large canvas in abstracts as this enables her to paint loose and create a more impressionistic style in her smaller works.

She has had international commissions from New York and Oregon USA and also Australia during the recent lockdown period.
