Simon Mark

The landscape paintings Simon is exhibiting are inspired by some of the most picturesque topography he found in the Macleay when he enumerated the Census last year. This job allowed Simon to visit remote corners of the Upper Macleay Valley to see steep rolling hills, covered in orange whiskey grass, dissected by rocky rivers and fast flowing creeks. The resulting oil paintings have been inspired by the unique light and colour conditions of Australia.

 

After Graduating from Post Graduate studies at The College of Fine Art, NSW University, Sydney, Simon's work has been exhibited in Sydney and Melbourne.
