Richard Tugwood's artistic journey began at a young age when his mother introduced him to the world of drawing. Born in the picturesque Northern Beaches of Sydney, Richard grew up in a family that manufactured surfing accessories, which instilled a love for the beach life in him. When he was nine years old, the family moved to South West Rocks, which quickly became a source of inspiration for Richard due to its breathtaking beauty and uniqueness. The surfer, rock fisherman, and bushwalker lifestyle of the area ignited his creative side, leading him to create the stunning paintings he is known for today. Richard's philosophy is simple yet profound, "I paint what I see - Come see what I paint."
