As part of the Federal Government’s Economic Response to COVID-19, the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements has allowed Coastline to take on four trainees, continuing the development of the Macleay’s skilled workforce.

The four trainees have recently completed their Higher School Certificate at local high schools and will look to further their knowledge to grow into competent employees.

Coastline’s Head of People and Culture Jenny Thorman has said the traineeship will provide the school leavers with opportunities to upskill which will be critical to the economic recovery of our region.

“Our region has been through so much in the last 12 months from the dreadful bushfires through to the devastating impact COVID-19 has had on our local economy”, said Mrs Thorman.

“We have been employing trainees for over 25 years and we feel it was important to continue this commitment to our local communities despite the turbulent year.”

The trainees will benefit from on the job training and hands on experiences in Coastline’s Macleay Valley branches and Administration office.

“Our aim is to move the four trainees between locations in the coming year and provide them with as many opportunities as possible.”

Coastline have engaged the Apprenticeship Network Provider MEGT, who along with the Coastline team will assist in mentoring the trainees, providing a dedicated local presence, and offering support services to deliver a structured learning program with ongoing advice and support.

The trainees will also enrol in the Certificate III in Financial Services through the Institute of Strategic Management enabling a sound understanding into the world of finance that will grow as they experience all facets of Coastline’s business.

Elleigha, Lily, Abbie and Amber commenced their traineeships on Friday 4^th December.
