Fake Coastline Bank social media accounts

We are aware of Facebook Pages impersonating Coastline Bank in an attempt to target members by encouraging them to join messaging apps, such as WhatsApp, and / or encouraging members to click on links, with the intention to collect personal information.
Please remember:
- Coastline Bank will never ask you to provide personal information through social media.
- Never share your internet banking login details with anyone.
- Be cautious on social media with scams increasing.
- Only trust verified sources. Always verify through official channels, such as the Coastline Bank website by contacting us on 1300 361 066 or visiting your local branch.
- Always Stop, Check, Protect.

Social Media Scams and Fraud
Scammers set up fake profiles on social media, messaging platforms and apps. They pretend to be a trusted person or institution, such as Coastline Bank.
By impersonating Coastline Bank they can try to collect member personal information, with the ultimate intention to steal identity and/or money.
Scammers can learn a lot about you from what you share on social media, and deceive you into sharing personal information. It is important to be suspicious of anyone you don’t know contacting you on social media.
If you see a suspicious social media account:
- Do not engage: Do not click on links, download anything, or reply to messages from fake accounts.
- Report to the platform: Use the platform's built-in reporting tools to flag the fake account.
- Report to Coastline Bank: Provide Coastline Bank with details by calling 1300 361 066, emailing riskandcompliance@coastline.com.au or visiting your local branch.
- Delete any message: Delete the message from your account as they may have links that attempt to take-over your computer or phone.
- Block the account: Block the account to prevent future interactions.
If you have already interacted with a fake account:
- Contact Coastline Bank immediately: Provide Coastline Bank with details by calling 1300 361 066, emailing riskandcompliance@coastline.com.au or visiting your local branch.
- Change passwords: Change your Coastline Bank Internet Banking and MyCOAST app passwords/passcodes immediately.
