Matt's Progress | Hawaiian Pro, Haleiwa | November 14 | WSL Qualifying Series
We are beyond proud of our ambassador Matt for his effort while competing in the WSL Qualifying Series at the Hawaiian Pro 10,000-point event last week.
His silky-smooth styling was well received by the judges, landing various turns and slides in the surf at Haleiwa.
Matt unleashed early in the heat, producing a high scoring ride and maintained this momentum, only to fall short by just over 1 point to fellow Aussie Liam O’Brien.
His best rides were a 4.30 and a 6.30 landed him in third place and although this meant he didn’t proceed to the next round, Matt remained positive about the experience.
“Copped a loss in the comp today but felt good to open up on some bigger walls,” he captioned a video posted on his Instagram from the event.
If Matt’s surfing was any indication of what’s to come in the Vans World Cup held on 25 November, we can’t wait to see what he brings!
