Verqelle is a nationally recognised artist.

Her home is in Ghungala country in Central Queensland, south of Blackdown Tablelands where her heart will always be.

Verqelle has been living in Port Macquarie with her 5 children for the last 8 years. When her youngest child started school, she tapped into her dormant artistic side and picked up a paint brush. Her talent all came back to her- her culture was sitting there waiting to be illustrated.

Although Verqelle has close attachments to her indigenous culture, she also loves her Christian faith which is reflected throughout her Art. Contemporary Indigenous art is Verqelle’s main focus, but her talent is across the board of life drawings, basket weaving, sculptures and turning everyday items into beautiful works of Art.

Verqelle can be contacted via email on verqellefisher088@gmail.com
