Second Factor authentication is when you use two different security methods to access a secure system. For Internet Banking
VeriSign Identity Protection (VIP) helps protect your accounts and your identity by requiring a unique security code, in addition to your user name and password, to access your online accounts. To generate each security code, you use a VIP credential (such as a VIP Access for Mobile application, or VIP Access Toolbar). While user names and passwords can be guessed or otherwise discovered, only you have access to the physical device or mobile application that generates the security codes required to validate your identity. Use VIP Access as an extra layer of identity protection when you Sign In from your desktop or mobile browser to Coastline Internet Banking to perform External Transfer, Business Banking and BPAY transactions. A new security code is generated by the VIP credential every 30 seconds. The following video is a demonstration of how VIP Access is used. A one time password is a numeric code generated by the second factor credential. A different code will be generated every 30 seconds. The generated code can only be used once. When do I use my VIP Access code? You will be requested to provide a VIP Access generated code when you select the External Transfer, Business Banking or Bpay Options in Internet Banking. For convenience the code is requested one time only during an Internet Banking session allowing multiple transactions to be completed under the one VIP validation. Is my mobile phone suitable for VIP? Most mobile brands and models are supported. For a full listing of compatible devices go to https://vipmobile.verisign.com/supportedphones.v Note: the mobile phone must have internet access to download the credential. How do I register a VIP credential in Internet Banking? When you have downloaded the credential login to Coastline Internet Banking, select the After successfully registering the credential you will be required to provide a security code generated by the credential when you perform External Transfer , Business Banking and Bpay transactions. Can I use my VIP Access anywhere? Your VIP Access can be used wherever you can log into Internet Banking. This includes overseas and remote areas. If you are using a mobile token but don’t have mobile phone coverage, the token on your mobile will still work. What happens if I need urgent access to Internet Banking but I don’t have my mobile with me? Contact Us on 1300 36 1066 – On provision of satisfactory identification a temporary access code can be provided. What if I lose my mobile phone? If you lose your mobile phone with your VIP credential on it, you must contact us to suspend or disable your VIP credential as soon as possible by phoning 1300 36 1066. How do I replace my VIP Access Credential? You will need to download a new instance of VIP. Note: You must contact Coastline to deactivate your current credential before a replacement can be registered. Do I have to pay for VIP Access credential? VIP Access for Mobile and VIP Toolbar can be downloaded for free. Carrier charges may be incurred depending on your mobile phone plan. What if I enter the one time password incorrectly? Wait 30 seconds until a new code is generated on your mobile. If the code is entered 3 times incorrectly, Access will be locked out.
