Factor2 or second factor authentication is when you use two different security methods to access a secure system. For Internet Banking 1. Your member number and password (something you know) and 2. The one time access code generated by your Factor2 Token (something you have). A Factor2 Token is an electronic device which when used generates a one time use numeric code which is used to provide authentication on secure systems. The code is generated by pressing the button on the device. The Token generated code is used in addition to the Internet Banking password to provide a second level of security. A one time use code is a numeric code generated by pressing the button on a Factor2 Token. A different code will be generated by the Factor2 Token each time the button is pressed. The generated code can only be used once to provide an Internet Banking authentication. Who can request a Factor2 Token? All Members registered for Internet Banking can request a Factor2 Token. Do I have to use a Factor2 Token? Factor2 Tokens are compulsory for members with daily transfer limits over $1,000.00. However we recommend all members take advantage of this additional level of security. You can obtain your Factor2 Token from any Coastline Branch or if inconvenient to attend a branch you can Contact Us and we will forward your Factor2 Token by mail. How do I activate a Factor2 Token? You can activate the Factor2 Token when obtained at any Coastline branch. If your Factor2 Token has been mailed contact our call centre to activate it. When do I use the Factor2 Token? You will be requested to provide a Factor2 Token generated code when you select the External Transfer or Bpay Options in Internet Banking. What if I enter a code incorrectly? Press the gray button again to generate a new one time code. How much does the Factor2 Token cost? The cost of the Factor2 Token to members is $20.00. This makes the Factor2 Token a cost effective means of achieving a high level of security for the protection of your account from fraud. How long will the Factor2 Token last? Each Factor2 Token has an expected lifespan of up to 5 years. What do I do if my Factor2 Token is lost, damaged or stolen? Contact Us and we will arrange a replacement. Replacement Factor2 Tokens are $20.00. Where Can I Use the Factor2 Token? The Factor2 Token can be used anywhere you can log into Internet Banking This includes overseas and remote areas. Can I use my Factor2 Token for verification on other web sites? No – Coastline Factor2 Tokens can only be used on Coastline Internet Banking. Can the Factor2 Token be used on other Coastline Memberships? No – Coastline Factor2 Tokens can only be used with one memberships Internet Banking login.
